IPMS Norway’s winning ”1964” model at the IPMS Norway annual show "SKALA" in March 2014 in Letohallen vicinity of the Oslo airport, Gerdermoen, Norway
About the Modeler
My name is Marius Moe. I’m 42 years old. I’m married and have two teen daughters.
I have been modeling since I was a kid. I joined IPMS Norway in 1995/96. It took some time to get going but I picked up the hobby again in 2005. Since then I’ve become an active member.
I mostly build “shiny cars” and have tried my hand at dioramas. I enjoy being with other modelers and attending meetings and contests to study models, have good discussions and pick up new tips and tricks. I have learned a lot and become a much better modeler thanks to IPMS Norway.
About the Model
The kit is Monogram’s 1964 Pontiac GTO. The color is ”Tecknoviolet”. The wheel hubs are from the kit, but the tires have been exchanged with some from another kit. I’ve inserted new “tinted” clear parts and mesh in the air-intake on the bonnet. The front suspension has been slightly lowered. The original chrome has been removed and the chrome parts painted with Alclad 2 chrome or covered with BMF. The engine has been built and inserted without extra detailing.
